Active ingredients

Because dog skin should also benefit from the advances in skincare, we pack our products with high quality active ingredients with proven effects that help making bath time a more comfortable experience. We have added these 3 actives, and we are very transparent with how much the formula contains, so you see the ingredients are actual actives in active levels:

5% GLYCERIN

Glycerin offers significant skin benefits for dogs, particularly when it comes to comfort and soothing care. As a humectant, it draws moisture into the skin, helping to alleviate dryness, which is a common cause of irritation, itching, and discomfort in dogs. By maintaining a well-hydrated skin barrier, glycerin can help reduce flakiness and redness, helping to provide relief for dogs with all types of skin.

One of glycerin’s advantages is its ability to create a light, protective layer on the skin’s surface, preventing dryness while shielding the skin from environmental irritants like dust and allergens. This protective effect promotes lasting comfort between baths, reducing the likelihood of recurring skin issues that might cause discomfort.

Because glycerin is gentle and non-irritating, it calms the skin without causing further sensitivity, making it ideal for dogs who struggle with dry skin. Overall, glycerin helps the skin to remain soft, smooth, and comfortable, creating a more soothing experience for your dog.

3% PANTHENOL

Panthenol, also known as pro-vitamin B5, is a highly effective ingredient that provides a range of skin-soothing and protective benefits. When applied to the skin, panthenol can be converted into pantothenic acid, which plays a key role in maintaining healthy skin function. One of its standout qualities is its ability to deeply hydrate and nourish the skin, making it an excellent ingredient for dogs with dry, itchy, or irritated skin.

Panthenol also acts as a humectant, drawing moisture into the skin and helping to lock it in. The hydrating combination of panthenol and glycerin (Gloor M. et al., Wirkt eine kombination..., Akt Dermatol, 2002, 28, 402-405) supports the skin’s natural barrier, preventing water loss and helping to keep the skin soft and supple. Its soothing properties make it ideal for calming inflammation and redness, providing immediate relief for dogs with sensitive skin or conditions like eczema or dermatitis.

In addition to its hydrating and soothing effects, panthenol promotes skin repair and regeneration. It helps speed up the healing of minor wounds, scratches, or dry patches, contributing to overall skin health. Its ability to form a protective layer on the skin’s surface helps shield it from environmental stressors like allergens, pollutants, and harsh weather, ensuring that your dog’s skin stays comfortable and protected long after bath time.

Panthenol is a double action active ingredient, moisturizing and protecting the skin to maximize the comfort during and after bath time.

0.5% ALLANTOIN

Allantoin is a highly recognized active ingredient for its remarkable ability to soothe, protect, and promote healthy feeling skin. It appears naturally in plants like comfrey, sugar beets, aloe vera or chamomile. Allantoin is known for its exceptional calming properties, making it perfect for dogs with sensitive or irritated skin. Its primary benefit lies in its ability to promote skin cell regeneration and repair, which can help to heal minor wounds, dry patches, or irritations quickly.

Allantoin is also effective softening the skin. It works by helping the skin get rid of old dead skin cells while increasing the skin’s water content, resulting in a smoother, more hydrated surface. This combination of benefits helps reduce flakiness, redness, and discomfort.
