At DOGS FIRST we do everything with the dogs' perspective in mind.

Dogs have a different color-vision system than humans. While humans have three types of cone cells, dogs have only two, which means they perceive a more limited color spectrum. For this reason, we selected two main colours that are easily distinguishable for dogs: one in the green/yellow region and one in the blue region.

This means that when your dog sees the DOGS FIRST bottle, they will see a colourful bottle, and not just a blob of grey on grey.

Our sensitive shampoo contains 5% glycerin, 3% panthenol and 0.5% allantoin. Check out this page to learn more about the science behind them.

Yes! Our shampoo is vegan

Our shampoo contains 95% ingredients of natural origin.

Being natural was not the goal of this shampoo, it was being mild and effective to comfort dog skin. We prioritized those ingredients that have scientifically proven skin repair and calming effects, as well as those that are the mildest and least irritating. Some ingredients like Panthenol (pro vitamin B5) and Allantoin (present in plants like chamomille) are not commercially available as natural origin ingredients, but we are constantly following the news and will update the formulas if they become available.

The formulas have been designed by cosmetic scientists in Zurich, Switzerland. This is also where we manufacture all products.

We have developed the formulas with the same high standards as human cosmetics (you'd be surprised how little regulated dog grooming products are!)

The shampoo has been dermatologically tested (on humans), with a doctor confirming that it has a very low irritation potential.
